Tea Dot – Earl Grey Tea and a Book

I was at Tampines 1 the other day and popped into the Tea Dot for a small cup of Earl Grey Tea. It cost S$3.50 Singapore dollars. It’s a great place to sit and read with the natural light pouring in from the skylight at the top of the mall. I love mall architecture where the ceilings are high and clear. It’s usually not too crowded and filled with business people on their laptops and students cramming for exams or doing their homework.

The layout is spacious and open and this is what you see when you look down from where you sit. It’s on the 3rd floor at Tampines 1 and you can’t miss it.

Tampines 1 is one of the newer suburban malls in the Eastern part of Singapore. It’s not as big as ION and VivoCity, but i think its attraction is that it’s not in town which can have moments of standstill traffic at the weekends. But this place gets pretty crowded too and sometimes you have to wait for a parking lot. That’s Singapore though and once you’ve lived her your whole life you learn to be patient and wait. Compared to the US or Australia, our parking lots are positively tiny and drivers develop quite a bit of skill squeezing their cars into these ridiculously small lots.

    Kind of open/exposed, isn’t it?

Couldn’t find any cosy outlets here. Everything’s a bit out in the open. Although I do prefer cosy quiet places.
