#20. Teh Tarik – Pulled Tea

Teh Terik is Indian style pulled milk tea. It looks like it’s being pulled because it’s poured from one cup into another to cool it down and mix it well with the sweet condensed milk. The video will show what I mean. I can kinda do it (with a lot of spillage), but not as good as that expert in the video. Teh Alia (ginger) makes me even happier because I love my tea spiced with Ginger.

Mmmmm I love Teh Tarik. Do you find that it tastes better after it has been pulled? I wonder what tea leaves they use. I tried it with lipton and it just doesn’t taste the same.

I know how to make Indian Style Tea….you need to boil fresh milk with rock sugar. And make the tea in another container using boiled water – 4 Roses tea dust will do (but I learn after trial and error not to let it seep too long). After that you add the fresh milk to the strained tea. You also need to add a bit of condensed milk as well as evaporated milk. It’s a bit of trying it till you get it the way you like it.

I find the pulling doesn’t really make a difference. When we prepare milk tea at home we don’t tarik it 😉

I also find that tea tastes better when it is served in a beautiful little tea cup. Sometimes it’s in the presentation as well.

Haven’t tried Teh C Special…do you add anything extra besides evaporated milk? When I make tea at home I used both condensed, evaporated and fresh milk 🙂
