#28. The Exotic Sexy Orchid is Our National Flower

The French seem to love orchids. My relative who is from France adores the purple orchid – purple is her favorite colour.   At one of my jobs, a French delegate wanted to get a whole bunch of orchids air-flown to his wife and he was willing to pay over a hundred Singapore dollars for them.

I have always been partial to sterling pink roses, but now I’m glad that the exotic orchid blooms here. I have taken orchids for granted. It’s Singapore’s official flower and you can grow it easily in a pot here, because this sultry beauty loves our weather. So number 28 on my 100 reasons to be happy in Singapore, is the sexy orchid.

I’m traditional, I love deep red roses. I’m a bit more particular about orchids, they have to be of a certain colour and type for me.

Oooo…. I adore them 🙂 Pink, purple, yellow, white, blush, orangey and all shades in between. I love them all, especially white ones with broad round petals. Orchids hold this air of mystery without compromising on its timeless elegance. You’re right! It is a very sexy plant 😉
