Marina at Keppel Bay

I didn’t know this place existed and I think not many people do.  It’s always nice to have a change of scenery. Blogging has made me consciously seek out new places and so we decided at the last minute to come here. You need to drive over a bridge to get to this little island like place. It’s probably on reclaimed land as reclaimed land makes up a quarter of Singapore – that’s how tiny we are. Without the reclaimed land we would be standing on each other’s heads and getting more annoyed by the day.  I thought they would have a huge entrance fee, but since it was free we went to check it out.  This place is very near VivoCity and Sentosa in the West of Singapore.

I would suggest that it’s better to go there at night when it’s not too hot.  We were at TCC ( a coffee place on the 2nd level), but it just got way too hot with the sun blazing in from the huge glass windows.  You do get a view with the many yachts docked at the bay, as this place is really a sailing club.   You can spot the construction of another super expensive condo here. The Cafe Viennese, one of the cheaper items on the menu was too expensive at $7 Singapore dollars after taxes. I guess when you come here you pay for the view.

Thanks for blogging about this place. Will have to try it soon as I’m in the mood for new and funky cafes! I saw the news about the opening of the bridge some time back but no further news on what was on the island.
