There is always a queue outside this stall unless you go pretty early. Also go early so that you won’t end up at a counter seat like I did. The food is great, but the service is just quick and basic. (it seems that they are aware their product is so good that it will sell no matter what – well at this the service isn’t bad like ‘Soup Nazi’ bad)
The booth seat did allow me to get a close up view of the kitchen behind the bar counter.
There’s a free flow of ice water (you’re given a jug) which is a great thing always. I chose the spicy ramen which cost $12 but you add a preserved egg for an extra dollar. The egg is a bit like a gel and a bit runny. It’s worth the extra dollar. WIth taxes a bowl comes up to about $15 Singapore dollars which is quite expensive, but I think the quality makes it worth it.
You can choose to add sesame seeds to your noodles. I always do. There are sesame shakers at the counter, so sprinkle away.
I can’t rave enough about the egg boiled in tea. It is the best I’ve had. The char siew (thin slice of braised pork) was so tender and delicious. The noodles were also thin and springy, the way I like them.

Oh my… I love these noodles!!! I used to encourage my colleagues to go there for lunch, but they don’t like it and call it expensive maggi mee!!!! That made me reconsider whether it was indeed worth the $15, but yeah this post reminds me that it’s time to come out of the closet!
Ya I know people who don’t rave about it as much as I do. So glad you love it too 🙂
