A&W Root Beer – The Best Root Beer Ever

It’s a pity we don’t have A&W in Singapore anymore. I used to go to the outlet in Holland Village. But at least we still have the soft drink. Just add a scoop vanilla ice-cream and you’ve got the famous A&W float.

The worst Root Beer I’ve ever tasted is Mug which doesn’t contain caffeine.

Anyway did you know that Root Beer is made from the bark of a tree! To be precise the sassafras tree. Of course they add corn syrup, caramel to it and other secret flavours. A&W Root Beer was invented in 1922 by Roy Allen who partnered with Frank Wright to form A&W. Did you know that its international headquarters is in our neighbouring Malaysia? Also the company was famous for it’s frosty mugs. Keeping the mug in the freezer prior to filling it, so that you drink will remain cold longer.

A&W Restaurant was the very first fastfood chain in Singapore are was in Dunearn Road in 1966. It closed operations in Singapore in 2005 due to dwinling sales. There’s a Facebook page petitioning for A&W to be brought back to Singapore with 16,185 fans.

I don’t really like carbonated drinks/soft drinks. I think I haven’t drunk one in years!

Root beer is best in a float form!

p.s. how do you write so many posts a day?!

I miss A&W. I loved their curly fries! McDonalds does good ones too but they are mostly not available! Can’t they make them perennial?
