We Now Have Falling Trees To Worry About!

Another tree fell on a car at Ang Mo Kio, Street but luckily this time there were no fatalities – just scratches. It’s pretty scary. Are the trees not properly rooted down, as they are artificially planted for aesthetic reasons? Or is global warming leading to our worst, most unmanageable rains ever?

According to the Today Paper, NParks said the tree was healthy. It was uprooted due to a weather condition called a “microburst” – localised strong columns of very-rapidly descending air. The wind speed at the time of the accident was as high as 65 kilometres per hour.
