Original Soya Sauce Chicken Noodles (Chew Kee Eating House)

I didn’t have noodles for a week so this was darn good, although I must admit it only comes a close second to the one at Toa Payoh. The chicken broth here is superior here at Chew Kee which is a very old store. The stall at Toa Payoh called Lee Fun Nam Kee, that I reviewed earlier, is more refined in terms of the chicken, and the noodle texture. The noodles are denser and spingier at Toa Payoh. This place is by the roadside and opposite the Hong Lim Market in the heart of the financial area. The Great Eastern Office is very nearby and I wonder if the people at that office patronize the stall here.

This place is at 8 Upper Cross Street and feeds 2 people for just $10 Singapore dollars. If you’re on a budget this place beats the Toa Payoh one in terms of value for your buck.
