Shunfu Char Kway Teow

I was planning to eat healthier last week, but I don’t have the iron willpower I desire and I caved in the end. If I ever have Char Kway Teow (fried flat rice noodles cooked with lard, in a clam, seafood broth) again, I have to starve for the rest of the day. I am sure this meal is a whopping 800 calories, but this is the best you can have in Singapore. If you seek only the best you can find this at the Shunfu market which is located very near the mall called Thomson Plaza.

The stall is called Lai Heng Char Kuay Teow and Cooked Food. The elderly auntie there is nice and we always request for “Mai Ham” which mean no clams as we both don’t like clams (which is great for my cholesterol readings). This market at Shunfu Road has an underground carpark, so you won’t get wet if it rains. If you’re here you must also have the muffins which I will cover in the next post.

I was wondering how it would look to someone who doesn’t have much Asian hawker food which can look pretty messy and oily. It tastes so good though. hahah sorry to tempt you.
