Great Quotes From the Wall Street Movies

I just watched the original Wall Street after watching the new one Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, in the theatre.  I never knew the 80’s could look so dated and cheesy.  What struck me about the original movie were the incredibly wise quotes about Greed on Wallstreet and money being the root of all evil.

Good Advice:

Create, instead of living off the buying and selling of others. (so true)

Corruption on Wall Street:

It’s not a question of enough, pal. It’s a zero sum game, somebody wins, somebody loses. Money itself isn’t lost or made, it’s simply transferred from one perception to another.

The main thing about money, Bud, is that it makes you do things you don’t want to do.

When you’ve had money and lost it, it can be much worse than never having had it at all!

It’s not always the most popular person who gets the job done.

From the 2010 movie (SPOILER ALERT):

If there’s one thing I learned in prison it’s that money is not the prime commodity in our lives… time is. (I agree)

If it weren’t for people who took risks, where would we be in this world? (I think ethics matter too)
