I sometimes have a hankering for Western food, Japanese style. One word to describe it is sweetish. The ambience at Ma Maison is warm and cosy. It’s like having a meal at a cottage with their flowery tablecloths, little baskets, wooden panels, brick walls and windows with little curtains. It’s a place where you can dress down and relax. I saw girls in slippers and tiny tank tops looking very relaxed and happy and I think that’s the why dining should be in summery Singapore.
For ladies, there’s a discount of 20% on Mondays which is good as you can expect to pay at least S$25 per person including drinks and soup.
The spaghetti was just right – al dente although the pasta is not the freshly made type, but I liked it. The omu rice is top-notch too with the fluffiest creamiest omelette wrapped around the rice.
The little touches of Halloween – adorable!
Everything here is just so pretty and the service was warm and friendly too. No wonder there’s a constant queue outside.
Continuing with the Halloween theme, pumpkin soup was served as part of the set lunch. Pumpkin soup is definitely my favourite kind of soup and they did it well here.
The coffee was a tad weak – just brewed coffee and not espresso though.
I will probably order a Omu rice if I come here again.
The external facade of the restaurant looks inviting too. Authentically Japanese.
