Ikea Restaurant: I Still Love You in Spite of the Eggshells

I was late for the breakfast and unfortunately picked the last french toast set that was there.  Not surprising that it was cold, but the worst part was biting into eggshells and having a hard time retrieving the pieces. Aw man, this is not the standard I expect of Ikea which is one of my favourite hang-outs in Singapore.  Next time I’ll stick with the lunch items or come earlier for the breakfast.  Also I would advise, not pick any item that’s laid out already on the counter. It’s unfair to compare anyway, as I think nothing beats my mum’s french toast.

I just love the free coffee at Ikea if you’re a friends’ card holder.  It’s also great that there’s free iced water too.  And the little trolley where you can stack your trays is a fabulous innovation.

The decor at this place is so nice and inviting with the natural light flooding in. It’s no wonder this place is packed most of the time.

Just a tip for the Ikea management if they are reading this. Even if the queue is held up a little, it’s best to prepare food on the spot then to prepare too many plates in advance and leave it out on the counter. Cold toast and sausages are not great and would spoil your otherwise fabulous reputation.
