The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (Part 2)

If you want a fun way to exercise, I would say walk around this mall. If you cover all the floors you could easily clock 5000 steps on your pedometer. That’s if keep on walking and are not tempted to go in and shop.

If you head towards the hotel as well you can easily cover your 10,000 steps for the day. I gave it a miss on this occasion.

I wonder when the sampan rides are going to start.

It’s great that TWG is opening here. It’s really expensive, but I tried their tea, lemon tart and caramel macarons, at a family birthday and it was so good.

Coffee Bean has really gone upsale here, or should I say Beanstro.

Although I am not a fan of the chain, the seats here look very comfortable. Once the water is in place, it’ll be a lovely place to sit and chat. Going by the queues, people already figure that.

Crabtree and Evelyn – always so pretty and inviting.

The scenes of old Singapore are a nice touch.

The most affordable place to eat here would be the basement food kiosk area I guess.

Just a glimpse of how big the place is. I just love buildings which incorporate a feeling of spaciousness into it’s design.

More pretty looking luxury stores.

The little window boxes look like an interesting place to dine.

Looking across the mall from the second level at the stores like Burberry and True Religion.  Places where I have never shopped.  Too rich for my blood.

I like the Miu Miu store – so yellow and happy.

More of that great spaciousness. It appeals to my claustrophobic tendencies.

The natural light and dome top is another architectural element that I like.

I didn’t dare take a picture of the casino as I walked past as there were intimidating guards or more like bouncers posted in front with a huge sign saying it’s illegal for anyone under 21 to enter.

I really wanted to have coffee or tea here. Maybe next time.

It’s by Mrs Fields. Another brand new store in Singapore.

A great view from the top.

We came in by the back entrance by walking through the helix bridge, and this is what the front entrance looks like.

They are really taking their own sweet time to complete the place! Coffee and tea bar….haven’t heard of it. Yay another cafe to try out!

It’s a gorgeous mall, beautifully designed, but what I find exciting is the sign that says “skating rink”! I spent way too much time on the bumpy ice at Fuji Ice Palace when I lived in Singapore — a shiny new rink would have been heaven!

Yeah I was really blown over by it. There’s a new ice skating rink at Kallang Leisure Park now….maybe not as bumpy. I suspect the one at Marina Sands will be a roller skating rink because it looks quite open.
