I haven’t been Touristy Lately, so here are my old Bird Park Photos

These were taken at Jurong Bird Park more than 2 years ago and it was real fun time with my aunts and cousin.

I was most fascinated by the owls and penguins. To see the owls you don’t even need to pay for an entrance ticket. They are outside the entrance. Their eyes stare at you intensely and they are so beautiful up close like glass domes. The picture doesn’t do it any justice. The thousand flamingoes were impressive too. And I always love the penguins because I crave the cold like they do. The various shows cater more for kids, and I could hear them squealing with delight.

The only thing that deters me from another visit, are the expensive tickets – S$18 per adult. The attraction is open from 8.30 am to 6pm. We actually went around 10 am, but if you go earlier it would be a lot cooler. My advise is to not eat at the park and to try to have a good brunch and a late high tea or dinner somewhere nicer, where the food doesn’t quite suck and is so expensive. I don’t know why, but food at theme parks are always not that great, but then again the last time I went was 2 years ago.

AHH! My favorite place in Singapore! =)

I am biased (I totally love birds) but I think S$18 is a perfectly fine ticket. The only exciting locations around where I live is Disneyland which is about $80+ now (I think it costs more if you are not a southern california resident). The rest are museums (Lacma, getty, etc) which are pretty boring, I think. The zoos are just depressing, and the parks are all ugly (except for Griffith Park). So there is really no chance for me to be touristy.

I didn’t see Any owls when I went (that were outside)! I only saw the night owls in their night habitats which meant no pictures =(

Oh, and to try a very exclusive fast food restaurant: In N Out. I doubt it is global since it doesn’t exist on the east coast (of the us).
