This is a hawker centre just next to the Esplanade. Great views of the Marina Bay Sands and the skyline with all the skyscrapers. After stuffing yourself, you can have a nice stroll although it was terribly hazy today. Came here for the satay and mee goreng. The cuts of meat were good – no bits of fat in it. The satay sauce was a little watery today, but not as spicy as I would have liked. B found the mee goreng really yummy. The whole meal came up to S$19. S$5 for the mee goreng and S$14 for 10 sticks of mutton and 10 sticks of chicken.
Even though it can be hot and sticky outside, most local hawker food tastes best in the natural air. Food smells mixing in a badly ventilated air-conditioned mall just gets to me. So awful. The food gets cold easily too. Somehow just doesn’t taste as good as an open-air hawker centre. It may get a bit messy – in this case the satay sticks were really sticky with grease, but you can wash up afterwards. Just be prepared with tissues.
I’m a vegetarian…why is my mouth watering?
yikes….I’m so sorry!! At times when I watched shows like Food Inc. I vow to be vegetarian and then my memory gets blurred by the sight of things like this.
