#69. The Little Red Button that Flashes on the MRT

It’s tiny little thing, but it’s useful indicator to make sure you won’t get off at the wrong stop on the MRT. Or at least it gives you some idea of how far away you are from your destination if you missed the announcements on the train PA system. I noticed this improvement about a year ago. Very cool!

    Taking the Singapore MRT is a very civilized experience for many reasons. The smartcard system is genius. The SMRT’s extremely efficient, and other transit authorities around the world could learn a thing or two from it (are you listening, Toronto?)
