Chili’s (Resorts World Sentosa)

After having a meal here, I must say I prefer the ambience at Tanglin mall as it has a more relaxed vibe, but somehow we got 9 quesadillas when I recall getting only 4 at Tanglin Mall branch. Well, maybe I just remembered wrong. Luckily we decided to order in stages. So after the nachos and the quesadillas we were too stuffed for anything else. A bit sad as we were hankering for Baby Back Ribs and fries.

I was appalled to find a Chili’s in Singapore, but I comfort myself with the fact that I didn’t see a Denny’s. Did you eat their Bloomin’ Onion? I was excited to try it since I love onions. Unfortunately the center of the onion did not completely cook and still had liquid batter on it.

I love onion rings at Carl’s Junior but I think I tried the bloomin onion ages ago when Chili’s was in Singapore in the 90’s. They then closed operations in Singapore (recession?) and now they are back again (more tourists, expatriates, and locals becoming more Americanized?).

Carls Jr. is actually better food than Chili’s if you compare the same food (I agree with the onion rings). I was pretty traumatized by the uncooked food there, so I will always have a negative connotation with Chili’s. I still go there however to meet friends and such. There are not many affordable food options here as there are in singapore 🙁

I love Carl’s jr. I always order their chicken stars even though I can never find it on the menu anymore! Their Portobello mushroom burger is always delicious, and I always get giddy whenever their famous star is on promotion for 99 cents. Not as often anymore since the recession, but I still have memories.
