The Hershey store that has a whole area for Reeses Chocolates just smelled so darn good. I wonder if they were burning special chocolate scented candles. The aroma was so strong. The caramel corn scents from Garret’s next door was just as tempting. The stores are just outside the entrance of Universal Studios Singapore. We were too stuffed from our dinner so we didn’t buy anything.

Reeses Peanut Butter Cups are my downfall. I can generally ignore most candy…but a Reeses? NEVER. I actually have one of those stupid stuffed reeses dolls, which I got in Hershey, PA at the Hershey “factory tour” (which is an animatronic ride, as having people tromp through the real candy factory would be unsanitary) at Hersheyworld (or whatever it’s called).
A major sadness for me here is that they are some kind of “gourmet” candy here…you can only find them at Cocoa Tree, Hersheys, and Candylicious…and at about 300% of the price in the US. Which is why I try to limit them to a once a month indulgence. But sometimes I have bad months…and sometimes I’m in the US where they are cheap and in every store that sells candy.
Because I was stuffed from dinner I was able to resist. But I wanted to buy so many types of candy. I knew they were more expensive here but 3xs the price is quite bad huh? No wonder the candy store people are getting richer and richer with those profit margins.
If I were in the US, I would be stuffing my face with candy and chocolate daily….the temptation is too hard not to resist. In a way I am glad we have less variety.
