#1. Passion Fruit

To motivate myself in 2011, I’m gonna start a list of healthy food that I actually like. My new favourite snack is passion fruit. It’s wonderfully sourish sweet. You just cut the fruit in half and scoop the fruit out with a small spoon. You can even eat the seeds. I like fruit that’s not too much of a hassle to eat. My cousin R brought these for us the other day and they’re really good. Since they are imported, maybe from the US, they are not that easy to find.

The best thing is, 1 fruit is only 16 calories. It’s full of nutritional benefits, but the ones that interested me are the fact that they improve your skin and protect your vision.

I wonder why it seems that most of superpower fruits are the types that i don’t normally eat on a regular basis? Now if someone told me that mango or watermelon was the way to go, I’d eat them every day!

  3. I have tasted many passion fruit flavored drinks, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen an actual passion fruit! I will have to look for these at the market. They look delicious!

I have only recently tasted this fruit. I think they have begun importing it into Singapore. It’s supposed to be from South America and I think the US too. They say New Zealand produces a variety that is purple on the outside, but the ones I had were green on the outside and I’m not sure where they are from. I must go check it out again at the supermarket.
