Kumquats can be seen all over Singapore, usually in the front of houses of Singaporeans who celebrate Chinese New Year. The Kumquat Tree is small and slow-growing. It has fruit on it that looks like Mandarin oranges.
I was excited when I spotted some of these plants at the back of a truck that was probably on it’s way to the nursery in preparation for the Chinese New Year crowds. I think you would see something like this only in South-East and East Asia where Chinese New Year is hugely celebrated. A bit like real Christmas trees and pumpkin patches in America I guess?

Closer up, you could see other small flowering plants which are used for decoration during Chinese New Year.

where is the kumquat place? At the door front? or can it be placed in the house?
most places that sell plants (nurseries) in Singapore will have special plants like these for Chinese New Year. I’ve usually seen it placed both indoors and outdoors….not too sure.
