Cascading Red is something you must see. The art installation caught my eye immediately. It looks like red powder from a distance and it was astounding to discover that it was in fact very fine red spools of thread. As I got closer, I spotted 3 human figures. This powerful work of art by Taiwanese American artist Su-Chen Hung, is free for viewing at the Esplanade main hall area. As the accompanying note explains red is the colour of joy and celebration for the Chinese.
Loved the Chinese New Year decor around the Esplanade as well.

Wow this is amazing! At first I thought those long red strands were paint!
I was very impressed by it too. Reminded me of the coloured powders thrown during the Festival of Holi in India. I didn’t know spools of thread could have that same effect.
