Exploring Bussorah Street

I wanted to stop at this huge coffee shop called Kampong Glam Cafe to have tea. Maybe next time. This place was at 17 Bussorah Street.

Even the birds love it here.

Didn’t expect to see a Sasha’s & Company Teddy Bear shop here at Bussorah Street. Little kids will love this place. And that’s exactly what I love about Kampong Glam – the unexpected and unexplored. For me at least.

I was especially thrilled by what I thought was a shop selling old fashioned toys but it turned out to be a museum. It’s called the Children Little Museum and the charges are just S$2, and I regret not going in to have a look. This place is at 42 Bussorah Street and they have a Facebook page.  The toys here are what we used to play with in the 70’s. How I wish I had kept all my toys and then I could have had my very own museum. My parents thought it was all junk then. My cousin had a whole load of original Star Wars toys – can you image the value of those now? But they were chucked away as junk as well when they moved house. Who would have thought vintage would be so cool?

And what’s glamorous Kampong Glam without the fashion.

Just love all the colour. The owners bringing out the tables and chairs again, after the rain.

A Turkish Restaurant that I am tempted to try the next time we come around.

Love that you’re doing a series on Arab Street area! I used to work along Bussorah Street so I’m pretty fond of the area. That turkish restaurant you featured above (Alaturka) has pretty good food, and damn awesome hot apple tea!

Also, try the Moroccan Deli near the 7-11 for fab kebabs. They’re one of the cheaper ones in the area, and one of the better ones too!
