Tropical Fruits in Abundance

I take our tropical fruits for granted till I hear someone from another country raving over rarely obtained mango or watermelon.

So here’s my photo tribute to our tropical fruits that we get in Singapore.

Red juicy watermelon is always available.

We can get fresh lychees and longans, but I do love our canned lychees in particular.

Juicy mangoes are available all year round too.

Mango is so abundant here that we even have mango cake.

I would easily have durian instead of lunch or dinner. I am glad I have loved the king of fruits since I was a kid. I love the scent as well.

You don’t even have to buy the whole fruit. They are available pre-sliced and nicely packaged.

Living in asia, this is one thing I am grateful for. Sweet and lucious tropical fruit just can’t be beat. I take mango over berries any day.

I also love rambutan, but I’m having a hard time finding them at the market these days. In the 70’s I recall that they were so easily available. I guess many people in Singapore stopped growing rambutan trees in their homes as it attracts a whole lot of red ants.
