Katong Laksa at Ceylon Road

Didn’t enjoy the laksa, although Katong laksa is supposed to be famous. Found it insipid and it just can’t compare to my favourite claypot laksa which is known as Depot Road laksa (located at Alexandra Village). Just pales in comparison. I did however enjoy sitting at the old coffee shop by the road on a nice cool evening. That was relaxing. I choose coffee shop over poorly ventilated air-conditioned food court, any day. It’s a no brainer.

Ceylon Road also has the lovely temple that looks like it was carved out of butter. You must check out Jeff & Flora’s blog for the most stunning photos of this temple.

I love a Singaporean coffee shop, and adore a good laksa. Alas, they are all too scarce in the northern hemisphere – I’d be more happy to settle for the Katong laksa version! (But maybe this is a sign of desperation, lah?)

  2. that’s too bad, because the laksa photos look really tasty to me!

hehehe think I have super high standards for laksa. It doesn’t look too bad in the photo I guess. Or maybe I like my laksa super spicy and with thick coconut cream.
