Jewels: Chocolates at Orchard Central

We got some chocolates to try from this place called Jewels in Orchard Central. You could have like a dessert buffet here as well, but we just got a box of chocolates to try. Honestly I expected to like the chocolates more. The one with the sea salt caramel within was nice, but for me I just need a simple milk chocolate bar from the US. Once B bought me that and I don’t know what brand it was, but the wrapper was a US dollar bill and it was just the best chocolate I ever had. The kind that’s not too heavy and just melts in your mouth – that kind. Anyway here are the pictures of the artisan chocolates at Jewels if you like your chocolates fancy. The staff here are very polite and did a great job with the presentation.

The chocolates here are quite expensive – about S$24 for that small box. I feel bad to say this as the place was already quite empty and seem devoid of business, but I would much prefer to have that American chocolate bar that cost just a few dollars. I guess it may have something to do with the freshness and quality of the milk. Unless the chocolate is imported from the US or UK, chocolate in Singapore kinda sucks. I have to tell it like it is. We certainly have the best hawker fare, but when it comes to western style desserts – there’s something lacking in this department.
