Chewing Gum Man, the 10 Digit Hand & Other Art (Marina Bay Sands)

Cool art installation. I wonder what statement is being made here.

More weird art that makes you stop and take a second look. The single hand with 10 digits. It’s ugly to me, but striking indeed.

I was attracted by the art at this gallery as well.

The chewing gum sculpture is a famous work by famous Chinese artist Jiaoxingtao. It explores the loneliness of the results of consumerism when we cast our “wants” out of our lives once we used them. Funny to find this in a shopping mall, because to me, it reads “think before you buy”. Haha.

The other one with 10 fingers is by another famous Chinese artist Ren Si Hong. He pokes fun at the Chinese government. I saw one of his sculture depicting Mao being two-faced. It was very funny.

I think at the moment, the works of these 2 artists are carried by Ode of Art.
