Find Your Childhood at Children Little Museum (Part 4 of 5)

There were recreations of scenes, like the drink stall, the barber shop and mobile theatre. For me they didn’t look familiar but the drinks brought back memories, especially the magnolia milk in a bottle.  Made me long for a magnolia strawberry milk from the past that tasted like a light milkshake.  I also couldn’t help but wonder what was going on with the chocolate milk that’s been in the bottle for over 30 years at least.

I can’t help but wonder how the owner of this place managed to get all these old drinks. Maybe he had a friend at the factory, or foresight that these would be rare?

And my mum and aunts will recall the ice ball man who used to sell them shaved ice with red beans and jelly within, doused with sweet rose syrup.

There were old biscuit tins that could cut your fingers if you were not careful.

This is an interesting museum. Did you pay the $2 to go in? I only browsed through the free first floor. I love those old drinks in glass bottles. Wish they were still sold like this still.

yeah I did….it’s just the upper level which is filled with old dolls and toys and bottled drinks. Pretty interesting 🙂 After going there I am craving for magnolia milk in a bottle…still have a vague memory of the taste.

We still have strawberry milk sold in the supermarkets, in packets though. Is that remotely the same?
