I have been craving for the inari sushi I had in Osaka and I was so excited to find that the one I had at Genki Sushi comes very very close. The difference is in the quality of the sweet sauce and the rice. Now my previous go to place, Ichiban Boshi, pales in comparison. The method of ordering was high tech too – you use an iPad! And then the cutest thing ever – your sushi arrives on a little toy tray in the shape of a bullet train. I adore the Genki sushi logo and the plates as well. The mini don (rice) I had was of a similar standard to what I’ve had at Liang Court’s basement stall, and it cost just S3.80. I love when there are mini versions of food so that you can try try more things. To be honest 2 plates of sushi and a mini don or udon, and you’re more than stuffed. I know I am not a real sushi eater as I don’t quite appreciate the raw stuff. Wish I could acquire the taste though, as they all look so pretty.
Inari Sushi.
California Roll.
Mini Oyaku Don.
I am pretty crazy about wasabi. Well at least it’s good for me – I’ve read that it has antiseptic properties.
The adorable bullet train tray. We kept forgetting to press the lit up button that sends the tray back, but were gently reminded by the hostess.
The cute Genki (meaning healthy in Japanese) logo was everywhere.
Gen Y will love seeing their bills in this form, although the older generation might find the ordering process a little frustrating if they have never used an iPad.
This is the very first outlet but I am hoping that more open soon so that we don’t have to keep coming back to just Orchard Central for sushi.

Wow thanks!
This looks amazing. Now I have another Japanese joint to check out. (Hubs loves inari too)
Thanks Yann 🙂 good to know I’m not the only one who loves inari.

Actually there’s an outlet at The Forum Shopping Mall before the Orchard Central one. I was so sad when the outlet was closed previously. Now I know where to find Genkisushi! 🙂
I had no clue there was a Genki Sushi there even earlier. I am such a fan now.
