The blog is now 5 months old and time for a review and reflection. Some days I just feel like giving up on this blog after a year as keeping up this domain is costing me. What has kept me going was a look at the stats page and it’s quite a satisfying feeling that what you are writing doesn’t quite go into a black hole. There are readers and I want to thank them for keeping me going. It’s comforting to know that other Singaporeans feel similar frustrations and aspirations.
This is quite a self indulgent post as I review my stats to reveal what topics have interested people in the last 30 days. Here are the top 5 posts:

My WordPress top posts and search tags for all time are quite different as they reflect the peak of interest in politics as Election fever took over the island. Then posts I wrote about Nicole Seah, Tin Pei Ling and Chen Show Mao were the most read. So Nicole Seah’s popularity was not just on Facebook, and it’s not surprising to me, as her sincerity and passion moved me as well. Who knows, in the future she might just be our first female Prime Minister. I hope I’ll be still around to witness that.

actually, it won’t hurt (readers) if you switch to a free domain.
judging from your stats, it would be savvy to attract more traffic if you posted more topics about, gasp, politics. not that i’m advocating it.

strangely I started this domain to try to make $ through advertising since my other blog which is free doesn’t allow that. But I never really did anything active about it and just let it be.
And then the Elections came around and I was just naturally enraged by what was happening around me (I guess I always knew but felt powerless) and just had to try to influence the vote in any way I could. Even if it meant just 1 swing voter’s attention. Made me quite gleeful 😉 Made the domain cost totally worth it.
The relaxation of rules on the social media really feels like a turning point in Singapore’s history.
