We walked a little way down past Kandahar street to a tiny coffee shop. Here hot tea is traditionally tossed high into the air by a sweet, elderly Indian Muslim man. The resulting teh tarik was perfection. I even felt that there was a bit of a fragrant rose taste to my tea.
I wouldn’t have minded a second cup, but it’s a bit hard to locate a loo among the shophouses so I gave it a miss. I was too shy to take a photo up close – maybe next time.
The pigeons sure love this place and we admired their crimson feet.
We also saw a number of taxis parked in the area. And here’s a tip – that means the food is usually good and the best value for money. Cabbies in Singapore are also top notch foodies.
Hi there. This is my favourite place for teh tarik!
thanks for confirming for me that it’s the best 🙂 I am hankering for another cup soon.
