I have been working on a bucket list for quite a while, but then I decided to do the reverse. It’s so much less stress and kinda fun. When you get to a certain age like I have (40), you just know that there are some things you’ll never do.
1. Skydive/ Bungy Jump
2. Get on a Roller Coaster or any kind of ride that rearranges my internal organs (glad I’ve done this already, 5 times at least, but no more)
3. Take Part in a Triathalon or anything super athletic
4. Enjoy hot weather (temperatures above 25 degrees celcious)
5. Enter the Cu chi tunnel in Vietnam or any narrow, claustrophobia inducing space.
Acquire a taste for:
6. Any kind of internal organ (only tried liver and hate it)
7. Oysters or Clams (slimy)
8. Beetroot (ewww)
9. Puffer Fish (never tried it and just seems not worth the risk)
10. Raw Sushi
Would love it if you would share your list with me.
Hahaha I love the way you describe riding on a roller coaster, it’s so true!
I’m really chicken 😉
Gosh, I’ve done 2,3, and 4. Am I weird?
I don’t think I’ll ever try “skinny-skiing” (cold weather version of “skinny dipping”)
Wow that’s great 🙂 Cold weather activity sounds good to me……living in Singapore I’ve never made a snowman before or had a snowball fight – those always look like fun on tv.
I could just about say ditto to all your list except number 10 (love raw sushi and sashimi). Now I’m going to think about it and write down some of my own in my journal. Good post!
glad to know you have a similar ‘won’t be doing that’ list 🙂 I really do wish I could acquire the taste for raw sushi as I love the cooked version.
No 1-5 I probably won’t do, and don’t have a desire to do so anyway. As for 6-10, I like internal organs, oysters and sashimi! Internal organs are great! You should give liver another chance, if its cooked too long it tastes like rubber. Also, fried intestines are like eating fried chicken skin! Mmmmmm you are missing out! Puffer fish I’m a little scared as well but I hear if it’s fully cooked there is no danger, regardless of whether the chef is skilled or not. As for beetroot, can’t say I love it, but I don’t hate it. It’s full of vitamins though. Quite like beetroot juice actually.
Thanks for sharing. You are a true foodie 🙂 I have always wanted to acquire a taste for all kinds of sushi though. RIght now I am quite pathetic…only have the cooked stuff.
Hmm.. I have no problems with items 6,7,8 & 10 on your list. As for puffer-fish, I’m game enough to try – only if its from a reputable restaurant in Tokyo. I have a ‘Fear Factor’ list and on it – bugs/creepy crawlies, Haggis and raw duck fetus (Balut or Pong tea khon in Cambodia – regarded as a delicacy) – are things that I will not eat!
definitely ditto to your fear factor list.
I don’t think I will do 3-5 though I always wanted to try skydiving for at least once in my life! Haha that I will do when I’m older and when I have no qualms leaving. LOL okay. X)
I haven’t tried beetroot and puffer fish, both sounds disgusting to me..
I chewed beetroot once and I vowed never again…didn’t know what it was then.
You can blog about your skydiving when you do it 😉
I’ll never
1-Backpack/stay at a hostel EVER again (been there, done that was I was 20-something…never again…I’m too old/spoiled for that shit)
2-Eat raw fish, internal organs, or a tongue/hoof/foot
3-be a size 2
4-drive in India or Rome
5-eat an insect
6-run for “fun”
7-vote republican
8-become religious
9-tell my kids that sex is bad or wrong or dirty or that they should be ashamed of their bodies
10-Wear high heels all day
ditto on the roughing it out…..feel like I’m too old for it too. Glad I think the 12 to a room bunk bed holiday in my twenties though. It was actually fun then.
I can’t even wear heels without walking funny…even though I’d love to get the hang of it…looks so elegant.
