Caramel Custard (Tampopo Deli)

Some days you want to indulge, but ice cream or cake just won’t do. That’s when you need a caramel custard. Not any caramel custard, but Japanese style and quality.  The wonderful mix of eggs, fresh milk and vanilla essence.  The kind of burnt sweetness that melts in your mouth. There have a few flavours including the plain milk custard that my cousin loved when we last came to Tampopo Deli, taking a break after walking around Clarke Quay.  I thought I saw an Earl Grey tea flavour as well.

Just head on to the basement of Liang Court to the Tampopo Deli, where the cakes look so pretty.  It’s a good thing the caramel is given separately as you only need less than half of it for just the perfect bit of sweetness.  And B made me feel a bit guilty as he was having green tea without sugar.  How I wish I didn’t have such a sweet tooth.
