Packet of Tea

I hardly buy drinks take-away as I can make them myself at home or I usually have the drink at the coffee-shop. Today I decided to, just for the photo. I said tea take-away, and the friendly lady corrected me saying “packet tea, packet tea”.

I much prefer the plastic bag, to the styrofoam cup which some coffee stalls have switched to. The plastic bag with the green or pink string, is just the way it used to be and I love it, for nostalgic reasons. It comes in handy if you have a place to hang your drink, otherwise you can’t lay it down and have to hold on to it. It’s so uniquely Singapore (South East Asia too I’m guessing) and very cool. Check out the motivation for my current post – Orangefoamfinger’s post where he bought a packet of kopi instead.

I haven’t yet had a drink in the plastic bag, I think I just worry I’ll make a hole in it and drink will go everywhere!

It’s quite sturdy but when I tried pouring from the packet into a cup when I got home, I made a bit of a mess forgetting there were holes for the straws and the drink spilled out.
