Tea at Kampong Glam

Teh Tarik at the little shop opposite Kampong Glam cafe is so good. This little stall is at 21 Bussorah Street.  The tea is prepared by an elderly Indian Muslim gentleman using both condensed and evaporated milk. I wonder if fresh milk is used as well. He’s a true expert.

You can read about the last time I had tea here. I also left very satisfied so I strongly recommend this place.  The tea cost only 60 cents and I believe it’s one of the oldest sarabat stalls in Singapore. I am still uncertain whether it is part of Kampong Glam Cafe across the road or just a stall on it’s own with no name. Perhaps there is a name, but I didn’t notice it in my eagerness for the tea.  Or most likely this place is so well known by word of mouth and history that there is no need for a name. This is called a sarabat stall as it sells mainly drinks.

60 cents buys you nothing here!!! Thats a bargain. A takeaway coffee is about $4 here!

Nope… Don’t really drink coffee or tea besides fancy tea 🙂

My parents and I have a nightly cup of teh-tarik over here in Perth to help with the home-sickness!

I think I probably would too 🙂 My family and friends miss things like rambutans, curry puffs and hokkien mee 🙂

Great. Need to tell my father about this place as he loves his teh tarik!

I think there are many places for good tea. But I just don’t want another disappointing insipid glass that I sometimes get at hawker centres.
