My most faithful reader, my mum, was happy that I was quoted on the Sunday Times today. It’s a very small part of the newspapers, under the Think section on Page 38, but I’ll take any kind of blog recognition and publicity I can get, as long as my identity stays safe and I get a link back. So far I have 17 readers for that post today. I’m assuming that all came from the Sunday Times link. Interesting to me as a reflection of the media power of our newspapers.
The words were taken from a post I wrote about the half nude A&F poster at Orchard Road. I was a bit embarrassed as I always feel self conscious reading back what I’ve written. Sounds too casual and not very well written to me. But that’s how I speak and since I want to be as authentic as possible, I’ll continue to write that way. I really should pity the reader more, but often it’s straight from my often foggy mind to the screen. Just hope it’s not too muddled.
I thought Selina, the other blogger quoted expressed her views well and I was glad that through this I got to know of her blog. She blogs using WordPress too.
9/10/11 is turning out to be a not too shabby day for me.
haha, i did see that in the paper today and I was like, hey, I know this blog…good job
Thanks so much bonnie. You have sharp eyes 🙂 I would have missed it if not for my mum.
hey! thanks so much for letting me know! It’s a sch blog actually. Really elated to know abt it =)
That’s cool. You write really well & I enjoyed reading your post 🙂
Yay! Great stuff and well deserved 🙂
Thanks Laura…it was exciting to see my words in print 🙂
Congrats!!!!! That’s quite a number of times you have been quoted already. I don’t think the ad is lewd at all. It’s just more of shocking to have such a large ad featuring an almost naked man. But seriously, what about all the scantily clad women? I should think that women should cover up more than men! The whole uproar strikes me as being very sexist, that it’s fine for boobs to be shown but not the crotch of a man??
Thank you & it made me feel good to see my mum excited 🙂
Yeah I thought so too…double standards indeed.
Wow! Congrats on being quoted in print! On our national paper too! Good one! 😉
Thank you so much for your support Lady J 🙂
