What a wonderful combination of bright Orange and hot Pink. The weathered cement floor adds to the beauty.
Walking through a little alley, fringed by pots of bamboo. Feeling zen already.
Oh dear, not bambi.
Buying cloth.
Arab Street with the distinctive ‘flat’ Gateway building in the background.
The beautiful golden dome of Sultan Mosque.
When you see the majestic mosque you know you’re reached Kampong Glam.
Street Art.
More gorgeous colour.
Loving the pale pink and blue combination.
You’ve entered the real Fashion District.
Beautiful pics, beautiful colors! This was one of the areas we enjoyed a lot. We stayed near Arab Street for a while, in a place called Sleepy Sam’s backpackers hostel (a Lonely Planet favorite). We loved looking at the colorful fabric shops there. I also found a lot of colorful toys in a jam-packed toy shop there.
It’s remarkable that the little graffiti piece is there… it looks like it’s been put there by someone who just started out (it’s not that good looking) but it’s quite large and bold. I guess that was on Haji Lane?
It was on another road near Jalan Kledek actually. The person really took the risk (graffiti is illegal in Singapore) but it makes for a more interesting street.
Thanks so much, it’s hard not to take interesting photos when Kampong Glam is so colourful and lively. It’s a great area to photograph.
Beautifully coloured buildings and so unusual to see graffiti too.
I would have never quite observed the colours if I was not blogging. helps me to slow down 🙂
