Back to Ma Maison at Bugis

When this place first opened, we came here quite often.  Since then I realize I haven’t been back for quite a while.  Have always loved the Japanese take on western food and the country style decor here is just charming.  Had the set lunch and the quality was very good.  The young girl who served us was very cheerful and polite.

Both the soups were so good, but I really loved the corn soup.

One of the sets came with Clam Chowder.

The chicken salad was very well presented and a massive amount.  It came in a tall glass which the waitress then scooped onto the plate and tossed with the dressing.

I enjoyed the crab cream croquette with japanese rice.

The coffee was very good for brewed coffee.  Reminded me of when I used to have coffee in an old Japanese western chain called Polka at Metro Paragon in the 90’s.

I am a sucker for bread, and what we had was almost as good as what I had at Tony Roma’s recently. French bread that’s hard on the outside and warm and soft on the inside.  And so good with the butter.

The strawberry ice cream that came with the set, really tasted of strawberry. Again good quality stuff.

The lemon tart was surprisingly very light.

It was very busy at lunchtime but the set was a good deal.  Because we also ordered the extra lemon tart the cost came to about S$20 per person.  I think it’s best to come here on ladies night which is Monday.  Ladies get a 20% discount.
