Johor Premium Outlets (Part 1 of 2)

Wasn’t really worth the while for me, but I had fun taking photos so that I can blog about it. I like new places. Why it was not worth it? I think the outlet shops in Singapore at Changi City Point have better designs and prices, hands down. I also think the regular Singapore stores have better prices for similar items. For instance even Body Shop items are cheaper in Singapore. It just didn’t feel at all like a Factory Outlet experience where we expect the prices to be gloriously slashed. The food here kinda sucked too. It was so crowded and I kinda bet most of the people are from Singapore. We are either bored or live up to the notion that we shop as a hobby.

Passing by the Food Court which is located very near the entrance as you walk in from the open air car park. We also felt that parking should be free for a Factory Outlet where parking seems abundant. They charge RM$3 which you have to queue up to pay. Make sure you pay early so that you won’t end up queuing like crazy. Also make sure you have enough RM$1 notes as the machine only takes these.

There were benches scattered around the open air mall, but they were all taken. That was how crowded it was. Got more and more crowded as time passed.

Inside the Food Court.

If I’m not mistaken the Orlando outlets have the same types of palm trees.

At the Zegna store a dress shirt cost about S$400 and so did a belt. Crazy prices for an outlet store. All the price tags seemed to be at least $RM1000. I tried to take photos of the price tags so you can see. Sometimes the price given is already discounted and sometimes there’s 30 to 50% discount. But even after the discount the prices were terrible compared to what we get back home. I’d rather buy things from the US online, if I really wanted to.

When the store was empty then you know the prices are pretty crazy. The crowded stores were the ones like Timberland.

Thought this blouse was pretty. Yet again, very pricey and you could get a similar one at the fraction of the cost at Zara back home.

I could never wear heels like this, but it made for a pretty picture.

There was a queue at the very crowded Coach Store. Totally not worth it. The designs there were kinda ugly. Felt like they picked the worse of the lot. The items that were not moving and dumped them here. I really looked but couldn’t find anything I really liked.

Thought my mum would like this, but definitely not the price.

I tried to take photos of some of the nicer looking bags as most of what I saw were pretty hideous which is unsual for Coach as I have always liked their classic designs.

Sexy Salvatore Ferragamo Shoes. Crazy Price.

This store was completely empty and after a while I realized why. The varnish in here was so strong it was stinging my eyes which started tearing very badly. I pity the sales people. I wonder how they can take it. The fumes were very strong.

I like to admire ladies shoes, and just day dream that I can balance in them. I am so swakoo when it comes to fashion. I guess these are the latest designs.

Next we checked out Canali. Again and again, the price tag disappointed us.

Even after the 40%, still too expensive.

I used to be able to get Evita Peroni assessories from Hong Kong at just S$5. Here they are S$15 and above.

I was not please with the various shoe designs at Geox. Nothing that was both comfy and pretty.

A Chocolate Store. I thought finally something cheaper. But no. Yet again, better variety and prices back home in Singapore.

But I was tempted by the huge bag of Reeses buttercups. Resisted the urge.

A dining place packed to the brim. All of them were, which made us head to the foodcourt instead.

Both Coffee Bean and Starbucks are here.

A view of the parking lot at the beautiful scenary in the background from the second floor of the mall.

The wait staff at this restaurant at Absolute Thai was very rude and just showed you the hand as it was crowded.

I wonder how much the same Nike shoe costs at the Nike Factory outlet back in Singapore. I am guessing cheaper, because I once got a similar Nike track shoe for less than S$100.

People were queuing at this crepe place. I think because the restaurants were packed.

I was excited to see Body Shop but ended up disappointed with the prices. I feel like such a broken recorder. I just kept hoping I would come by just one store that would delight me.

Headed back down to the Food Court as we were starving by then.

Luckily we could get a place to sit.

I feel so bad to say this, but better nasi lemak back home. It’s kind of unfair as we didn’t explore JB outside the mall. I bet we could get awesome Nasi Lemak at a little coffee shop somewhere.

After lunch we looked around a bit more before leaving. I will continue the journey in another post.

I am visiting JPO tmr and perhaps, may make a quick exit if prices are not cheap towards Jusco, Bukit Indra heehee. A few weeks ago, I went for a M’sia holiday drive to Cameron, Penang, Ipoh and KL.

Found Panang items cheaper than KL thou a bit congested.

        Cheers!
