Fullerton Bay Hotel: Afternoon Tea

I think I’ve just been treated to the best high tea in Singapore.  I used to think it was Rose Veranda.  The company must have made for a good experience as well.

The ambience at the Landing Point at Fullerton Bay Hotel is even nicer than The Fullerton it’s more established sister hotel. I found the decor so pretty. The beautiful chandeliers and tiny hints of deep purple and pinks against the mostly white for Christmas – stunning.

The lobby area was very prettily decked out too.

I don’t usually care for the raw egg roe but I loved the cucumber sandwiches. The egg roe made it prettier.

And I usually don’t go for salmon but this was good. I do love English style sandwiches.

Egg Mayo was good as well.

Lobster in a little ice-cream cone was very unique and surprisingly good.

I love that everything was tiny and bite size. And this cranberry and cheese canape was lovely.

Out of all the sweet items, the lemon tart was my favourite.

This pear cream brulee tart, I didn’t enjoy as much. I prefer just regular cream brulee like the one at Rose Veranda.

I also loved the tuna rolled in crepe and another mini savoury tart. I tend to always go for more savoury than sweet at high tea.

The scones were really good as well although the clotted cream did not really seem thick enough. You get a tier plus warm scones and everything is topped up once twice or as much as you can eat. We got full quite fast as we were drinking tea as well. I loved the TWG tea called tea party. It tasted like caramel lollies. Had a lovely scent too.

I would love to come here again as the service was good.  Although it was not as cosy as the Rose Veranda at Shangri-la, I much preferred the quality and variety of the food here. There was a Chinese restaurant there that looked like a Museum too. So cool.

We asked for directions at The Fullerton Hotel as we were not sure how to walk to Fullerton Bay. Actually it’s sort of connected by the underground travellater from the koi pond area at the Fullerton Hotel. You won’t miss it if you look out for the signs.

I’ve been dreaming of these multi-tiered high teas, and therefore have been following your posts on afternoon teas. And it was down to this one, or Regent Hotel. In the end, went to this one with my girlfriends and we had a great time! Yes, good company does contribute to the good experience!

After 30 minutes we are still waiting for tea to arrive.

Oh dear…sorry to hear that Nick…but I think it’s good feedback too. I guess I was lucky to have a good experience at that one time I went.

yeah the problem with Singapore….the service is never consistent. They don’t pay service staff well and theirs a huge turnover. I think the tipping system might work a lot better…if the tips went to the wait staff and not back to management as it does in some cases I think.
