I am yet again embarrassed to say that this is from two weeks ago. I’ve been so tardy.
Had wonderful company at the high tea and we all agreed that the bread used for the sandwiches was a tad too dry although there was a lot of variety. Perhaps they made the sandwiches too early? My cousin liked the cream brulee best and I have to agree that it was good. Most of all I just love the architecture here. It as a bit of old world charm.
The red carpet on the staircase makes it all so grand.
The xmas tree was still up, but this was just shortly after New Year.
I’m always attracted by pretty chandeliers.
We got a bit lost and came to this coffee lounge at first. Here is where they serve local tea. Perhaps we should try this one day.
We had to walk further down the corridor to reach the place where the English afternoon tea was served.
The food. It all looked very good but the hotel should not cut cost so much such that quality is compromised. That’s just what I am guessing happened.
Would have made a world of difference if the bread had been soft and fresh.
Ooooh one of my most favourite places for afternoon tea. They have a large selection of finger sandwiches. Did you try out the free flow of haagen dazs ice cream? I don’t eat that much of it but I love the idea that I can get more and more and moer! Feel like it’s time for me to go back again. Was the bread not soft?
Oh no I didn’t know it was good quality ice cream…shucks, I didn’t take any.
