Haven’t had my favourite food in the whole world in a long while, which is the former Depot Road Claypot Laksa. It’s now at Alexandra Village. Used to be sold by the parents but I think the business has passed down to the son. Sadly the stall was closed when we were there. But in the end I got to try another fantastic hawker item which I normally wouldn’t have tried. The char siew rice here is extremely good. Apart from the chilli I would say it’s the best and it got accolades from Makansutra as well. I wasn’t totally disappointed. My favourite drink in the whole world – avacado juice was open. Conveniently it’s just next to the Char Siew Rice stall. This drink makes you so full though – it’s equivalent to a meal. I recall when it used to cost just S$1. Now the price has gone up to S$2.50 but it was worth it to me.

Yum, two things I used to eat all the time when I lived in Singapore!
I have only been back in California a month or so, but looking over your recent blog posts makes me miss it. And the food is something I really miss, too.
Yeah the food here is pretty great, Flora. I miss it when I am away for a week or two. But every time I look at videos of California I wish we had beaches and sunsets like that…..so gorgeous. I think you have loads more healthier food options there too? And real Mexican food?
