New WordPress Views by Country (Yup I’m a blogger addicted to stats)

I was thrilled to find that WordPress now allows us to see stats by country.  The map of the world they added is so cool. Just the little things that make me happy. The fact that they have called the WordPress software engineers Happiness Engineers is so apt. What a wonderful job title to have.

I have been to all these countries (even just one day counts right?), except The Philippines. I need to get to The Philippines one day, have mango and stroll along one of their pristine beaches. During my corporate career I met up with delegates from Philippines and they are some of the warmest, most fun loving people I’ve met. It’s embarrassing for me to admit I haven’t been there considering how near the country is to Singapore. It’s just that there were all these reports about kidnapping and safety issues. It’s the same reason I haven’t been to Sri Lanka, but I’m probably just speaking out of ignorance and isolated fear mongering news reports.

I am in awe of your stats – so many visitors! Of course, it’s a logic consequence of your writing so well, posting lovely pictures, having funny insight and eye for detail (love the bunny!) and generally making me (and your other readers obviously) happy to see every new post!

oh my! you should definitely come to my country! and i would love love to show you around (and i believe a handful of your Filipino readers would willingly do too) 🙂 We have the best beaches in the world and im not saying that just because i am Filipino 🙂

Thank you so much. It sounds so awesome. I have seen photos of those pristine beaches and just wow. Do you try to get to the beach every weekend? The beaches in Singapore kinda suck. I am also addicted to joy mango. Love my dried mango.

These days we hardly get good fresh mangoes in Singapore. They taste kinda watery. I recall that we used to get mangoes from the Phillipines as a child in the 70’s and 80’s and nothing can compare to those divine things.

i live in cebu and the beaches are like 30-minute ride from the city, you go father north or south, 2-3 hour drive, and the beaches are even more divine. and theres even a small town down south where you can swim with the whale sharks 🙂 im beginning to sound like someone who works for the Department of Tourism, but yes, we try to go to the beach as often as we can especially now that it’s summer and the heat is just unbearable ^^

And the mangoes! probably something we take for granted because we have them all year round and the only time we miss them is when we go abroad. 🙂 ill bring you dried mangoes when i go to singapore ^^ Cebu has the best dried mangoes!

The jobs I enjoyed the most in my life involved international colleagues. Often I feel like with the blog I have writing colleagues from all over the world and I learn so much. It’s just so nice. It’s the best thing about the web. I get to ‘travel’ for free.

hello, i’ve been reading your blog while im staying here in SG, tho’ going back home next week. I hope you find time to see the Philippines. I recommend Coron & Puerto Princesa Palawan. I’ve been to Coron, we were 3 of my friends and we rented a small pumpboat that took us to the other islands with pristine beaches, freshwater lake swimming with stingless jellyfish. It was not summer when we went there, so the place wasn’t crowded. We were only 3 of us in the beach, and it was the kind of relaxation we needed. 🙂

Thank you so much for the recommendation Karina 🙂 I will definitely now keep Palawan in mind when holiday planning.
