There was a time when we had to travel to Australia just to have a taste of honeycomb ice cream. Now you can get it easily at Cold Rock and I love that so many chains are here in Singapore now. Soon we will have Krispy Kreme dooughnuts too. We don’t have to put up with the inferior versions anymore. I just wish an IHOP would open here too. Never tried it myself but heard so much about the pancakes.
There were so many brands we didn’t have when I was a young adult, that we have now. Just off the top of my head:
Carl’s Junior
Wendy’s
Maison Kayser
Quiznos
Dean & Delucca
Camper
Zara
Gap
For the clothing stores I wish the prices could be more reasonable.
I know that many people would love a Lauduree here for a taste of the world’s best macarons. And I wish A&W would make a return like Dunkin Donuts did.
One thing I’m really hoping for is a real Apple Store. With the number of Apple enthusiasts fans in Singapore, isn’t it time?
Have you tried the ice-creams from NZ Natural?
I haven’t tried it yet. Is it as good as what you get in NZ?
but $10 for a scoop of ice cream is way too expensive.
I find so many things overpriced these days. Scary inflation. Due to rental costs?
A lot of things seem to become really pricey when they made their way onto our shores, so we usually think about the difference and make the comparisons. But I suppose there is a trade-off about having them easily available without having to buy an air ticket to get that Krispy Kreme fix, which of course is an exaggeration since I don’t think anyone will do that. Eventually, if they have really priced themselves out of the market, the result is they can’t survive. But while they are here, let’s just enjoy them. I am hoping someone will bring in Mister Donut though, that’s my favourite brand of doughnuts! 😀
I’ve seen the super cute Mister Donut Japanese ads. I hope they come here too. I’ve never tried them but I’m sure they are great.
