Dumpling Festival 2015

It’s extremely hard to go on a low carb diet in Singapore. This time we were tempted by the offerings of the Dumpling Festival (officially the Dragon Boat Festival which falls on 19 and 20 June this year).

There were stalls set up at the Bugis area (just outside the OG department store building) and all kinds of dumplings even vegetarian one, really tiny Thai ones and square ones from Hong Kong.

We had to try one from Eastern Rice Dumpling (chose our favourite Nonya Dumpling but a more spicy savoury version). Joo Chiat Kim Choo is the most famous one but we didn’t want to queue and thought of trying something different. There’s a hawker centre just behind the stall area and you can have your dumplings there and a drink from one of the coffee stalls. It was good and I’m glad these are available all year round and not just around June.
