I love that it’s been raining and raining. The temperature feels just perfect to me, at around 26 degrees celsius. I wish it could stay like this forever! Although (being too picky now) I would like a little sunshine once in a while, as washed clothes just can’t get dry. (Most Singaporeans don’t own a dryer as electricity costs too much and we get free sunshine all year around anyway). It was lovely to walk in the drizzle at Chinatown. I think it was what kept most of the crowds away. Otherwise it would normally be so crowded you wouldn’t even be able to walk through the throngs of people. Here are the snapshots from our little walk around Chinatown.
Here’s a link to all my posts on CNY 2011.
These photos are beautiful. I love the one of the vendor in the market!
Thanks! He was on a microphone selling Taiwanese cakes and sweets for the New Year. These are usually packaged quite nicely and I saw many people crowding at these stores. Added to the festive frenzy.
hello! Thanks for dropping by Quirkychic! I love your photographs – they make me take a second glance at this country I’ve lived in for so long 🙂 I look forward to reading more of your blog (and yummylicious photos of CNY goodies this festive season)
Happy Chinese New Year! 🙂
Happy New Year to you too 🙂 thanks so much.
I love your photos! I hope you don’t mind, but I included a link to your blog in my latest post, Hong Bao Hijinks. I realized my own sad little collection of Chinese New Year photos couldn’t do the holiday justice, so I hijacked yours instead.
Thanks so much Maria….that sounds great 🙂
i am excited to return to HK for CNY, I am really looking forward to all things red!
I think it will be awesome in Hong Kong. I was once in Taiwan for Chinese New Year and it was amazing!!
