Dreams and Reality was an apt name for the collection. The paintings went from dreamy to bleak, with depictions of war and industrialization. The bleakness conveyed in this one, scared me quite a bit. Something about the burning and the sombre colours. You need to see it up close to take in all the details. It has a nightmarish quality of utter despair. But that was just me. That’s the thing about art. It’s all very subjective and personal.
There are clear explanations at every section and for each painting even if you didn’t get the audio guide. But I feel that the audio guide definitely provided more detail and was extremely useful for one not so educated about fine art like myself.
A forlorn quality to this hospital scene.
This one immediately struck me as powerful.
The female figure represents war.
