Was agitated by the crowds at Compass Point (I just call it Sengkang Mall). The noise didn’t help. There was an event going on where some local personalities were on the loud speaker trying to sell electronic good like TVs to the public who were lapping it up. I welcomed the momentary distraction of browsing at the dollar store and coming upon these treats that about ten years ago you wouldn’t be able to find in Singapore – especially the versions from the UK or US which taste a whole lot better. I always thought it was the value dollar store, but on closer inspection it’s Valu $. I wondered if the owners are Indian as most of the goods have stickers which mention imported by Radha Exports. So I checked. They seem to be following a similar concept that makes Mustafa Centre in Serangoon Road so popular. They must be getting discounts by buying in bulk? I wonder about the expiry dates though – guess we have to check those.
We don’t normally get peanut butter jars this huge. Must be leftover stock from the US. Also saw Christmas M&Ms and both the UK and US versions of Kit Kat.
Do they import Cadburys from the UK do you know? I’ll be honest I don’t tend to like the chocolate here as it definitely tastes different to what I grew up with (no bad thing though). If this place imports UK chocolate then it could be my undoing!! 😉
Bad news for our waistline ;-)…yes they do. You can find UK Cadbury chocolates at Mustafa as well 🙂 The other versions of Cadbury suck and I only like the UK imported ones too.
I didn’t know they had UK Cadburys at Mustafas, seen it there but assumed it was the yucky stuff. This is great for the chocolate cravings but bad news too! 😉
sometimes they run out, but sometimes I get lucky.
