I used to work at an office where people were nice to each other. I later found out, that kind of culture is a rarity and it’s total blind luck where you end up. It was an American company in Singapore and the culture was just great! One of my colleagues, who was quite the prankster, but so much fun, liked to tease me and asked me to try some snake water. It was the first time I had heard of it. I was immediately revulsed at the idea. It turns out that this is actually a kind of herbal carbonated water. It tastes a little more bitter than sparking water. It’s called snake water because the herb called oldenlandier was used as a cure for snake bites.
Oldenlandier is such a pretty and exotic sounding name. It’s like the name given to a celebrity child. Oldenlandier as you can see from the picture on the can is a herb found in China and has been used to treating illnesses like cancer. I don’t know how well it works but I wouldn’t knock ancient Chinese medicine as sometimes it has worked for me and people I know.
