Chocolate Cake at the Coffeeshop
Rich and moist chocolate cake that tastes like it’s been steamed rather than baked. A great dessert after Kok Kee Wanton Mee. It’s rare to find this at a coffeeshop that sells hawker food. Only $3.50 at one of the … Continue reading

My Fave Japanese Stores in Singapore: #1. Daiso
Just love this chain of stores from Japan because it’s affordable where each item is S$2. Some items at Daiso are worth much more (good quality toys, shopping bags or files) and some much less (a single hair clip, unless … Continue reading

JB Coffee Shop: Wan Tan Mee
The best thing about JB is not the malls but the old style coffee shops. So much more authentic than Singapore and the meals are so yummy and cheap. I still need to update this post with an address but … Continue reading
Cider at Ikea
Loved the strawberry & lime cider at Ikea. Loveliest scent & aftertaste. It was below 5 bucks and much cheaper than having it at a restaurant where I’ve seen cider marked up and sold for as much as 15 bucks.
IMM: Best Place for Factory Outlet Shopping in Singapore
I used to be very reluctant to go to IMM as I found the place rather dingy. The only reason I had to come here was when Singapore had only one Daiso outlet. IMM has since transformed, with their new … Continue reading

Merry Christmas from JB, Malaysia
Was charmed by the rotating gingerbread man at City Square, the mall nearest Singapore where I like to browse at FOS (Factory Outlet Store) for clothes. There are some good branded buys at sometimes as low as a quarter of … Continue reading

Cheap iPhone 5 Covers at Sim Lim
I usually hate going to Sim Lim Square, the notorious IT mall with a dizzying array of computer stuff and some thuggish vendors. But this time I brightened up at the prospect of being able to look out for a … Continue reading

Queensway Shopping Centre: Cheap Pants Alteration, Curry Chicken & Soccer Jerseys
I’m not that fond of coming to Queensway Shopping Centre unless there is a purpose or unless I get to have curry chicken. The curry chicken here is out of this world and requires a whole other post. Queensway as … Continue reading

First Thai at 23 Purvis Street: Most Satisfying Meal I’ve Had in a Long While
In Singapore, you don’t need to go to a fancy restaurant to get the tastiest food. The best food is often found in coffee shops like First Thai. Actually Purvis Street is quite the eating place, and if you can’t … Continue reading

Valu $ Store: Chocolate from the UK & the US
Was agitated by the crowds at Compass Point (I just call it Sengkang Mall). The noise didn’t help. There was an event going on where some local personalities were on the loud speaker trying to sell electronic good like TVs … Continue reading
