Halloween Orange & Blues
I’m loving the halloween decorations in Singapore. I somehow find all the orange and pumpkins very festive and cheerful and hardly spooky. Orange was also my dad’s favourite colour. He chose our orange sofa and orange floor tiles for instance. … Continue reading

The Wonder of Kampong Glam

Sri Mariamman Temple at South Bridge Road
I am not sure whether I have ever been inside this Hindu temple, but the carvings always intrigue me. Usually temple artists from India are commissioned to create the sculptures and they are always done by hand. There were several … Continue reading

Uniquely Singapore: Colourful Buildings
I think Singapore is one of the few places in the world with colourful buildings. They add prettiness to our skyline. What’s best is, it doesn’t cost a cent to appreciate our old restored Architecture. One of the simple pleasures.

Exploring Bussorah Street
I wanted to stop at this huge coffee shop called Kampong Glam Cafe to have tea. Maybe next time. This place was at 17 Bussorah Street. Even the birds love it here. Didn’t expect to see a Sasha’s & Company … Continue reading

Eye Catching Design Elements at Clarke Quay
This air vent reminds me of alien warships from the movie War of the Worlds. The colourful old warehouses, the alien like modern features, gigantic clear overlapping umbrellas, the sprinkler fountain. You wouldn’t think these design elements would go together, … Continue reading

An Old Shophouse Painted Canary Yellow
These shophouses at Pickering Street, as old as 70 years, have been preserved and all their external facade needed was a fresh coat of paint. I was struck by the awesome canary yellow of one of the shophouses. It stood … Continue reading
